When the Spartan legend was defeated in Libya
When the Spartan legend was defeated in Libya 1---687
The city of Sparta in ancient Greece was an invincible nation, and it was a state where all its members were recruited according to very arduous training methods. It was a city superior to all the cities of Greece and others, and it attained very great fame in the ancient world.
Dorius, the son of the King of Sparta, attacked the areas of Wadi Kaam, previously called Knibis. It was a fertile agricultural area from which the Knibis River originates from a mountain called Tell al-Jamilat. It was considered one of the most fertile areas in western Libya. At that time, the Spartans tried to establish a city around the year 520 BC, but the Libyan Macai tribe confronted them. It had been inhabiting and settling in the region since ancient times, so the Makai tribe was victorious over the Spartans in a major battle and was able to defeat them, eliminate them, and expel them from western Libya.
