The strangest mummy
The strangest mummy 1--1563
This 2,000-year-old Chinese girl still has blood running through her veins
Shen Chui died in 163 BC. When her body was discovered in 1971, her hair was intact, her skin was smooth to the touch, and her veins still contained blood. Her blood was analyzed and classified as Group A.
The photo above is a recreated version of her mummified body.
She is a mummified woman from the Chinese Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). She still has her own hair, her skin is soft to the touch, and her body is still as flexible as a living person.
It is widely known as the best preserved human mummy in history.
Xin Zhui's preserved body was immediately compromised as soon as her body was exposed after being discovered, causing her body to deteriorate. So the pictures of it that we see today do not do justice to the initial discovery.
