Adults and elderly people should reconsider their diet and exclude some food groups according to the requirements of the body, which with age becomes more selective.
Dr. Maryat Mukhina, a Russian nutrition expert, points out that the products that are not recommended to be eaten together are meat and potatoes, because the dish contains heavy foodstuffs such as protein in the form of meat, and a starchy “bomb” of carbohydrates.
According to her, not even a young stomach can handle such a heavy burden, especially if these foods are fried. With age, the production of enzymes decreases, which leads to difficulty absorbing nutrients, and thus a feeling of heaviness.
She adds: “If a person cannot do without meat, it is better to boil it. As for potatoes, it is better to exclude them completely, and replace them with cooked vegetables or quinoa.”
The expert advises against drinking banana cocktails with milk, because the bananas in this drink turn into a mucous substance that can hinder the functioning of the intestines. As for eating bananas alone and chewing them slowly, when they reach the stomach they will have decomposed thanks to saliva enzymes. For the same reason, it is not recommended to consume coffee, milk, and orange juice for breakfast, because it reduces the effectiveness of stomach enzymes, especially if the person has eaten porridge before.
