Tashtoukt lights up the last nights of the 19th edition of the Timitar Festival in Agadir
On Saturday evening, July 6, 2024, the artist Fatima Tashtoukt lit up the last night of the 19th session of the Timitar Festival in Agadir, after she presented a distinguished group of her most beautiful works on the open-air stage in the city of Agadir, including the song “Tamazight Aimi” which won the National Prize for Amazigh Culture for the year 2010 organized by the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture, in addition to her new song as a gift to her large audience that filled the stage, and who interacted with all the segments of her concert.
With the start of the ceremony, Fatima Al-Zahir, known in the artistic arena as the artist Fatima Tashtoukt, daughter of Douar Tadart Ait Amara, affiliated with the prefecture of Chtouken Ait Baha, was keen to welcome the attendees.
The artistic launch of the artist Fatima Tashtoukt was in 2007, after she won first place in the competition to discover singing voices, as the best singing voice among 300 male and female participants, organized on the waves of a private radio station through the program “Dotafoukt” at the beginning of 2007.
During her artistic and creative career in the field of Amazigh song, the artist Tashtoukt, nicknamed by her fans as the jewel of Amazigh song, has released 9 Amazigh albums and 5 VCD videotapes. Through these clips, the artist uses traditional Amazigh clothing and tricks from some regions of Morocco such as Tafraout, Ait Baamrane, Anzi, Tiznit, Fam El-Hisn, Tamanart, Tlouat, and Ouarzazate.
Tashtoukt is expected to participate in many festivals during the next few days, including the Ikidar Idauknidif Festival.
It is worth noting that the Timitar Festival “Signs” was organized by the Timitar Association, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, over three days under the slogan: “Amazigh artists welcome world music,” and on three platforms in the city of Agadir, namely the Hope Square platform, the Bijawan Square, and the open-air theater.
In a statement to the media, the artistic director of the festival, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Mazned, said that the Timitar Festival brings something new every year, as is customary since its establishment in 2004. This year, there are about 40 artistic groups, and more than 350 artists from Sous and other regions of the Kingdom, as well as from Africa, the Middle East, Europe and America. Al-Mazned added that there is a presence of various types of music, and that approximately 50% of the participating artists are from the Sous region, which reflects the dynamism that characterizes the region. Ibrahim Al-Mazned pointed out that the Timitar Festival is today considered among the top 25 festivals in the world, as it has become an indispensable event in the Moroccan music scene, as it attracts thousands of celebrants from all over the world to taste the diversity of Moroccan and international music.
Similar to previous sessions, Timitar received intensive and successful security coverage from the Agadir Security Department, both on the platforms and among the audience, in coordination with various other security agencies and authorities, by adopting a strict security plan, and judicial and administrative barriers at various entrances to the city, in addition to patrols in various neighborhoods and streets as well as the entrances and exits of the city.
