Features of the Amazigh letter
Features of the Amazigh letter 1--1622
Moroccan linguist Dr. Abdullah Al-Helwi said: “The Amazigh letter is historically distinguished by four characteristics that are found in it and not found in others:
1⃣-The first is that it is the oldest phonemic system we have known so far (this is a temporal characteristic).
2⃣-Secondly, it is spread throughout the entire North African region (this is a spatial characteristic).
3⃣-Thirdly, its epigraphic data is remarkably abundant (this is a quantitative characteristic).
4⃣-Fourthly, its development is connected, so we can understand the manner of its development (this is a qualitative characteristic).
These four characteristics: temporal, spatial, quantitative, and qualitative, enable us to enter into the depths of the “Amazigh graphic mind” to understand scientifically how it arose and how it developed... Therefore, it is not difficult to establish, based on the historical data of the Amazigh letter, an independent science that may We call it (the cognitive science of graphic development)...
