The Amazigh short film “Ayour” from “Cannes” to the opening of the fifth session of the “Tafsout” festival in Tafraout
After winning the third place in the official competition for the CINEF short film at the 76th session of the recent “Cannes” festival in France, the Amazigh short film “Ayour” by director Zineb Wakrim will participate in the opening activities of the fifth session of the Tafsout Festival of Amazigh-Maghreb Cinema in Tafraout.
It is expected that “Ayour”, which is the first Moroccan short film to participate in the official competition for the short film CINEF at the Cannes Festival, will be shown at the opening of the festival organized by the “Anarouz Association for Development and Cultural Communication”, from 05 to 09 July 2023. in Tafraout, under its permanent motto: Adrar and the Cinema.
And “Ayur” deals with the story of “the two children, Samad and Hasna, from two Amazighs families, who share one health problem, which is severe sensitivity from exposure to sunlight, known as “children of the moon.”
The young director, Zainab Wakrim, who hails from the Tafraout region, indicated, in previous press statements, that her choice of “Ayur” as the title of the film reflects her Amazigh culture, adding in similar statements that she “dreames of developing Amazigh cinema because for me it is the future.”
It is noteworthy that the Tafsout Festival of Amazigh-Maghreb Cinema is a distinguished annual date in the town of Tafraoute. A number of Maghreb films will be screened, whether in the official competition, in panorama shows, or through the cinematic caravan that will take place in a number of roundabouts at the level of the Tafraoute district, in addition to organizing training activities. And a variety of cultural and artistic, and a local competition for short tapes for amateurs.
The fans of the seventh art will also have a date with a number of creative cinematic faces and screen stars, who will come to the town of Tafraout to share with the people of the region their love and passion for this art.
