Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032
The Amazigh Women's Voice Association organized a workshop on the International Decade of Indigenous Languages 2022-2032, on November 28-29, 2022, in the city of Rabat.
Under the slogan of confronting the danger of the disappearance of the languages and cultures of the indigenous peoples, and in order to raise awareness and make a great effort by the international community to protect and promote the languages of the indigenous peoples, as well as in order to preserve the gains made by the United Nations General Assembly in 2019, after the announcement of the International Decade of Languages Indigenous population covering the period 2022-2032.
The inaugural activities were available to attendees and via Zoom technology, framed by members of the association and those interested in indigenous languages, while the two-day workshops were closed, and dealt in their entirety with the problems of indigenous languages, from the difficulty of defining concepts, to their plurality and the difficulty of limiting and preserving them from extinction, and the discussion reached the level of research. In ways of preserving and protecting the languages of indigenous peoples and promoting their identity values.
