Atlas Cedar Forum discusses the Amazigh issue
A group of researchers and those interested participated in the first Atlas Cedar Forum organized by the Thinking, Research and Proposal Center in partnership with the Atlas Center to celebrate the Amazigh New Year and International Women's Day under the slogan: Advocating for the institutionalization of the Amazigh New Year, the issue of the identity of all Moroccans, on Saturday March 11th.
Mr. Lakhmar Lamrabet, Mrs. Ilham Saqi, Mrs. Mustafa Ozir, and Professor Hassan Uri opened the forum, where each of the professors, Khaled Zirari, participated, on the linguistic situation in Morocco, and talked about the teaching of Tamazight and the modest level in which it remained, as well as the important steps that Tamazight recorded since the speech of Ajdir and the constitution of 2011 Then, Abdullah Ikla's intervention about real equality between the two official languages in Morocco, and the reality of this equality that takes slow steps, then Abdul Ghani Ziani's intervention about Tamazight and the question of the new development model: Spectacles in stakes, secretions and extensions, followed by Jawad Al-Zarrouqi's intervention on Tamazight at the university Reality and prospects, as part of the first session of the symposium “Promoting Amazigh as a National Responsibility”, which was moderated by Dr. Mustafa Osir.
As for the second session of the symposium, I learned the participation of Professor Samira Makram about the immigrant Amazigh woman and the linguistic disadvantage that puts her in front of the difficulty of accessing health facilities, then the intervention of Saeed Hanin about the shortcomings of the Amazigh audiovisual media policy on the task of reviving the Amazigh language and preserving its spirit, then the intervention of Idris Al-Omarini on the integration of the language Tamazight in the field of education in Morocco: outcome and aspirations, then the participation of Hafid Hanin on the appropriateness of cultural and linguistic rights in Morocco: constraints and expectations.
While Ms. Yamina Al-Qarat Al-Alam and Mr. Omar Esri were unable to attend.
Nadia Powder was a lecture on rural women through the Spanish archives, on the occasion of International Women's Day and in honor of Amazigh women, where she worked on analyzing the paintings of Emilio Blanco Ithaca, and everything he produced about rural women.
