“Tog” is a play by the Arif Cultural and Heritage Ensemble in Al Hoceima
The first performance of the play “Tog” by the Arif Association for Culture and Heritage in Al Hoceima took place at the Prince Moulay El Hassan House of Culture in Al Hoceima on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, within the framework of a project to produce and promote theatrical works scheduled for the year 2023 with the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication.
The first performance witnessed the presence of members of the Committee for Supporting Cultural and Artistic Projects - the Ministry’s Theater Sector, and those interested in theatre. The play “Tog” tells the story of an immigrant who spent most of his life working in coal mines in the Netherlands. He returned to his rural hometown after his retirement to take care of his children, and was afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease.
The play tells the story of the immigrant’s suffering between the neglect of the son who aspires to immigrate and lives under the pressure of unemployment, and the daughter’s inability to provide the best for her father in light of the domestic violence she experiences.
