Salé.. The regional book fair discusses “the demarcation of the Amazigh language, activation procedures and reality challenges”
The Regional Directorate of the Culture Sector in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region is organizing the activities of the 13th session of the Regional Book Fair under the slogan: “Memory of a Nation” during the period from 9 to 16 November in Bab Al Mreisseh Square in the city of Salé.
In addition to the spaces for displaying books and publications, the exhibition includes a group of cultural activities, including intellectual seminars, master class sessions, lectures with writers and artists, artistic and poetic evenings, fine arts exhibitions, theatrical performances, as well as meetings with writers to present and sign their new publications, and a celebration of literary icons belonging to the region. .
A large number of publishing and printing houses, bookstores, professional organizations and cultural associations are participating in the exhibition, which aims to enhance and enhance the cultural scene in the region, as part of the directorate’s openness to civil society activities. In addition to the participation of a group of intellectuals and creators, including writers, poets, critics, researchers, academics, women, men of thought, society, media and communication.
The exhibition's cultural program is divided into three spaces: the exhibition's seminar gallery, the Subhia treasury, and the Bab Fez gallery.
The current session of the exhibition celebrates the critic Dr. Saeed Yaqtin, a brilliant face in Moroccan culture who gave a lot in the field of literary criticism and represented Morocco in many conferences and forums. He was recently honored in the State of Kuwait, where he won the Kuwait Prize for the year 2022.
The program of this session also includes organizing pivotal seminars in areas of interest to the topics: “Poetry and the Future,” “Cultural Industries in Public Policies,” “The Role of the Mother in Sensitizing the Importance of Reading,” “Cultural Media: What Prospects for Public Service?”, “Moroccan Lyrical Poetry.” Outcome and Prospects,” “The Moroccan Novel and Questions of Identity,” “Demarcating the Amazigh Language, Activation Procedures and Challenges of Reality.” Not to mention the openness of the exhibition’s programming to: an exhibition of plastic arts, nights of poetry and stories, and other various sections such as: a writer and a book, signings, and childhood training workshops. (In the art of storytelling, visual art, book reading techniques), a film workshop for youth and children, educational and entertainment shows, theatrical and musical performances.
Artist Latifa Ahrar, Director of the Higher Institute of Theatrical Art and Cultural Revitalization in Rabat, presents the exhibition’s master class on the subject of “Theatre and its Community Function.”
A number of thinkers, writers, poets and intellectuals also participate in the exhibition’s activities, whether within the program of seminars, meetings, signings, or poetry and story readings.
In the context of encouraging and motivating students and youth to read, the exhibition will witness a special celebration of the student Malak Omani, the national and regional winner of the Reading Challenge competition.
The organization of the activities of the 13th session of the Regional Book Fair comes within the framework of the involvement of the Regional Directorate of the Culture Sector in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region in the Ministry’s strategy to sensitize the reading community, encourage readability, and consolidate book culture within the societal fabric.
