Presentation of the “Automated Corrector for the Tamazight Language” and the “Portable General Dictionary of the Tamazight Language” at the Book Fair
Yesterday in Rabat, two digital applications were presented to the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture, on the sidelines of its participation in the 27th International Book Fair.
It is related to the “Automated Corrector for the Tamazight Language” and the “Portable General Dictionary of the Tamazight Language”, which are the last two applications of the researchers of the Center for Informatics Studies and Media and Communication Systems of the Institute.
These two applications fall within the framework of bringing those interested in the Amazigh language closer to it, simplifying and facilitating it, as well as its wider circulation and use, especially the great role played by modern communication technologies from smart phones.
While presenting the application of the “automatic corrector for the Amazigh language”, Younes Al-Shaabi said, according to what was reported by the Moroccan News Agency, that this application is a research project that saw the light after scientific and applied research, and that it aims to write correct spelling texts, explaining that it has an effective role in reducing the errors it makes. The book is in the Amazigh language.
This application, adds Al-Shaabi, will enable the development of the Amazigh language by writing it with the Tifinagh letter, highlighting that this debugger is an advanced program that can identify and correct language errors within the text written with this letter.
After he recorded that the adopted approach is an arbitrary approach and exploits statistical data resulting from a learning board in order to identify errors, he emphasized that many national languages have few tools for natural language processing, which is the case for Tamazight.
He expressed the desire of the aforementioned center to enrich the automatic corrected dictionary by correcting entire sentences instead of just words.
For his part, Jamal Faraine, during his presentation of the "Portable General Dictionary of the Tamazight Language", stressed that this application, available on the Internet, aims to strengthen learning in the Tamazight language and use technology in the process of teaching it, as users of this dictionary can choose the language they want to translate from and to between Tamazight. Arabic and French.
He added that this dictionary is available on the institute's website, which is free and available to everyone, and it can be accessed via the link: URl https://tal.ircam.ma/dglai/lexieam.php . It includes the program for the participation of the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture in the activities of the 27th session of the International Book Fair, which The city of Rabat will host it until June 12, mainly organizing seminars and round tables and presenting new books and publications.
