The term Azawad
Azawad*. An Amazigh term that refers to the western regions of “Mali” or the desert north of the Nigerien curve. This term spread with the outbreak of the Imohag revolution in this region, and it is the center of the Azawad Liberation Movement located on the border between Niger and Mali, which is covered by desert along the Azouag River Valley, and is considered Azawad to the north of Agadez is the starting point for the great caravan that reaches the Bilma oasis.
Mali is a geographical term only mentioned for definition, otherwise it is not recognized here as a country even if the whole world recognizes it
