ishawian term or ishaouen 1-968
Many people believe that the term Shawiya is an Arabic word derived from the word Shah, since these Shawiyas are known for raising flocks of sheep, even though this craft is widespread among everyone and across the world. There are areas in Algeria and other breeders who are most interested in raising livestock, but the Arab current is always racing against time and events and out of step with the flock along the way. He does not start with his interpretations and explanations from the language of the region at all, but rather wanders far to the continent of Asia and the land of the Gulf, and through that he invents a mythical explanation with the aim of Arabizing the region.
However, fortunately, the term “Shawiya” in dialect, or “Ishaoun” in Amazigh, does not limit its presence only to eastern Algeria, but extends to other regions, and this is a slap in the face to the bankrupt Arab movement. Whereas the Shawia in eastern Algeria used to use mountain peaks as a war strategy
The Amazigh city of Ichaouen is located in the Tangiers-Tataouine-Lahcemi region. According to experts on  Amazigh toponymy and regional identity in North Africa, the meaning of Ichaouen in the Amazigh language is centuries, and this is true because in the Amazigh tongue, Ichaouen means centuries, but what is meant by calling this area Ichaouen is not the centuries, but the peaks.
It is said in the Amazigh language of the Rifi (Ish n wdrar ⵉⵛ ⵏ ⵓⴷⵔⴰⵔ) meaning the mountain top, and in the plural we say (Ishaun n edurar ⵉⵛⴰⵡⵏ ⵏ ⵉⴷⵓⵔⴰⵔ) meaning the mountain peaks.
This Amazigh city, known for the color of its blue alleys and its wonderful mountainous nature, was named after ishaouen ⵉⵛⴰⵡⵏ in reference to the mountain peaks by which the city is known.
