Socotra Island
Socotra Island 1---1311
It is the largest island in Yemen within an archipelago of three other small islands belonging to the State of Yemen.
The area of Socotra is 3,800 km² (six times the area of the Kingdom of Bahrain) and is inhabited by about 100,000 people.
Although it is a Yemeni island, it is geographically closer to Somalia and is believed to have been separated from Africa at some point.
The island includes 800 species of plants, a third of which are endemic and not found anywhere else in the world. Like the blood of the two brothers and Socotra frankincense.
The island includes species of birds that are found only on the island.
The island has high mountains, deep valleys, and rare white sand on its beaches.
The people of Socotra speak a language of their own that no one else understands, and it is an unwritten language.
The island was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 2008.

The city of Hadibo is the capital of Socotra Island and has an airport and a port.
There is an old legend on the island that says that Cain, son of Adam, killed his brother Abel in Socotra, and from his blood grew the Two Brothers’ Blood Tree, which secretes a red sap that resembles blood.
Note: This island is closer to Africa and its inhabitants are non-Arabic speakers, but the Arab school curricula and the Arab media attribute it to the Arab world. What more impudence than this?
