Ibn Sayin's revelation: From devotion to poetry to embracing the seduction of the novel
After many years of devotion to the poem and Qurayd in the Amazigh language and withstanding the waves of the temptation of the novel, the poet Professor Moha Ibn Sayin is swept away and finally submits to riding the waves of that irresistible temptation, as he puts it, and publishes his first novel marked with: “IRI W BURZ” Issued Bahr this week by the printing press and the national paper in Marrakesh.
It is a novel in the Amazigh language in the Latin letter of medium size (14/20), and it is 176 pages and five chapters in which imagination is mixed with reality, as its details delve into history and the worlds of the Amazigh heritage, and some of its events float on the surface of the present with a plot of imagined events with a realistic character on the one hand and realistic events with the spices of the novelist imagination On the other hand, fictional characters inspired by reality. IRI: A personal name for the child of the protagonist who grows in age, the more the events of the novel become intertwined with him, and it means treasure. ABURZ is a family name that means pride and self-esteem.
The writer Moha Ibn Sayn saw the light at the dawn of the eighties of the last century in Tadegost, district of Guelmima, in the province of Rashidiya in the southeast of Morocco. He holds a diploma from the Teacher Training Center in Rabat in 2002, and holds a BA in Amazigh studies in Fez in 2012, and a diploma from the Regional Center for Professions of Education and Training in Agadir, with an Amazigh specialization in 2015 and He holds a master’s degree in Amazigh language and culture in Fez in 2018, and is currently studying for the children of the community residing abroad in Paris, after his success in the competition for teaching the children of the community in 2019.
He has won a number of literary prizes, most notably the National Prize for Literary Creativity granted by the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture every year in 2015.
He published two collections of poetry in the Amazigh language, the first in 2012 entitled: “Tissas means shivers” and the second in 2014: “Onul or inattention.” He also participated in many forums and festivals dealing with Amazigh poetry, language, literature and culture.
The Amazigh novelist and writer Ahmed Hadachi presented the novel “IRI W BURZ” and the artist Mohamed El Amrani designed its cover. With this version, the accumulation of the novel's gender in Amazigh will be reinforced, which still needs more versions compared to poetry and story.
