Weak hadiths and their impact on the Arab nationalist thought of Ibn Badis and his followers
We read from many of those who defend Arab nationalism that the Arab identity with which the peoples of the Islamic Maghreb are described is based on the Arab tongue and not on the ethnic origin. Many use the saying that everyone who speaks Arabic is an Arab, and this is the theory that some Arabs (owners of Arab nationalist thought) circulate.
In Algeria, one of the main symptoms of Amazigh phobia is the repetition of the famous verse of Abd al-Hamid Ibn Badis, head of the Association of Algerian Muslim Scholars, as if it were a mantra or amulet to be said in the face of violators: “The people of Algeria are Muslim, and to Arabism they belong.”
Arab nationalists in North Africa often cracked our heads on the Internet and elsewhere by inferring the Arabism of Algeria and the Maghreb with the slogan of the Association of Algerian Scholars (The people of Algeria are Muslim and to Arabism they belong)
This slogan, which was invented by Imam Abdul Hamid Ibn Badis, may God have mercy on him, in 1937 AD, became a slogan like any of the verses of the Noble Qur’an that does not come from their hands falsehood. , in all its stages and their attacks on all symbols of the Amazigh identity
Before we reveal to you the falsehood and invalidity of the slogan of the people of Algeria to Arabism, we remind the honorable reader that Ibn Badis believed that Algeria was ethnically Amazigh and not Arab, but that its Arabism was acquired through the Arabic tongue that most Berbers learned, according to Ibn Badis, that everyone who learns Arabic becomes an Arab and this The statement is legally invalid, as we will explain later
And the thought of Arab nationalism, the Algerian Scholars Association was the first to call for it and worked to spread it in the minds of Algerians, as the daring led them to claim that the Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the father of Arab nationalism, and they based this on hadiths that are all fabricated and weak saying that all Whoever speaks Arabic is an Arab even if his origin is not Arabic, and this is of course false and contrary to the Book of God and the authentic hadiths as we will explain in this article.
See Al-Shehab newspaper, June 1936 AD
For example, we mention that Imam Abd al-Hamid ibn Badis, who is considered the pioneer of religious reform and the symbol of the leaders of the ideology of Arab nationalism in Algeria, says In the meteor magazine (February 1938( There is no denying that the Algerian nation has been a Mazeigh since its ancient times.” A nation in history has not been able to turn it away from its entity (or) to remove it from its Mazeghe... Rather, it was she who swallowed up the conquerors) ......... ........
There is no difference between the conquering Arabs and the Berbers, the original sons of the homeland

Ok, if Ibn Badis recognizes the Amazigh origins of the Algerian people and recognizes his Amazigh-Sinhaji lineage. Ibn Badis, may God have mercy on him, often appends his articles to the name (Sinhaji), which is a tacit recognition of his Amazigh origins as a descendant of the Senhaji family of the Amazigh tribe with a history in their future state (the Senhaji state), what made him He embraces Arab nationalism, even though the Islamic religion forbids affiliation with people other than parents and grandparents
See an article published in the first year’s Insights newspaper in its third issue on page 2
However, Ibn Badis did not give the Amazigh as much as he gave to Arabism, he only gave it the honor of faint affiliation with it, for he was (Arabia) to the core affiliated with the Arabs and the Arab national project, a servant of its ideological and ideological and dragged many Moroccans behind the idea of Fumji on it and strange that when we browse and verify the Ibn Badis’s speech on the Arabism of Algeria, we are shocked that all his pan-Arabist ideology is based on reliance on very weak prophetic hadiths that it is not permissible to rely on according to Islamic law.
Yes, dear reader, the Badisian Arab nationalist thought is based on very weak and fabricated hadiths that make everyone who learns Arabic become an Arab despite his nose, as we will discover in this article. That is why he fell and his followers fell into the myth of Arab nationalism
Whereas, returning to Al-Shehab newspaper, the twelfth part of November 1934 AD, Ibn Badis mentioned that the legal ruling that makes a person Arab is the Arabic tongue, meaning that everyone who learns the Arabic language becomes an Arab according to Ibn Badis.

Of course, the words of Ibn Badis are legally invalid and for several reasons
First , the validity of this hadith, which was judged to be very weak, and it is not permissible to infer it in determining the ethnic identity of the Algerians:
(Arabic is not a father or a mother for any of you, rather it is the tongue, so whoever speaks Arabic is an Arab)
Al-Albani said in “ Kitab Silsilat Al-Hadiqa Al-Hadith” Hadith No. (926): It is very weak

We believe with certainty that Ibn Badis was not aware of the weakness of the hadith on which he was based to say that Algeria is an Arab identity through the tongue, and this is what made him and the Association of Algerian Scholars spread and support the thought of Arab nationalism in our country on the basis of a very weak hadith that it is not permissible to rely on.
I my brothers and sisters. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him said:
(Whoever lies about me intentionally, let him take his seat in Hellfire) Agreed upon
And he said:
(It is enough sin for a person to narrate everything he hears) Sahih Muslim
a
So, the issue of transmitting hadiths from the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, and citing them is a delicate and dangerous issue, as it may lead to fire, God forbid.
The hadiths attributed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, some of them are authentic and there is no doubt that they are attributed to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
But today we say to his followers and whoever says the people of Algeria belongs to Arabism , we have established the legal evidence for the invalidity of Ibn Badis’ words and on the legal basis on which he relied in the claim to Arab nationalism in Algeria.
If you truly believe in the Book of God and the authentic hadith, because the Prophet, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, said,
( Whoever narrates a hadith from me that he thinks is a lie, then he is one of the liars) - Narrated by Muslim
It has been proven about him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, that he said (Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the fire) - agreed upon. change their people
You find some ignorant people wanting to Arabize the non-Arab races based on these weak hadiths, and they think that spreading this is one of the things that warn people and fear them from affiliation with their original nationalities such as the Amazigh, and he does not know that the matter is dangerous, and lies about the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and that intimidate people What has no basis: It is forbidden. Because it is intimidation without right, or it involves temptation to embrace Arab nationalism, and it is not legally valid and it is not permissible to change the lineage.
Lying to the Messenger by relying on fabricated and weak hadiths is a major sin and is prohibited. Because people who are ignorant of the authenticity of the hadith believe that this is proven, so they count it on God Almighty and that it is from the religion and it is not . So let those who publish these publications beware not to be among those who invent a lie against God in order to mislead people without knowledge, and let them know that God does not guide the unjust people, and that this is an injustice on their part to publish to the servants of God what is not proven from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace.
The Badisian Arab nationalist thought is based on weak hadiths that contradict the Book of God and are agreed upon from the authentic hadith because Islam forbids the transition from one people to another and the claim of affiliation to others in an explicit verse (I call them to their fathers...), which is the verse in which (Zayd) retrieved his Harithiyah, which The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, raised him until people started calling him Zaid bin Muhammad
What is not permissible at the level of the individual, is not permissible by analogy with the level of the group???? How can God forbid the affiliation of Zaid to Muhammad, and accept the affiliation of the Berbers with the Arabs?
There are many hadiths indicating the prohibition of affiliation with others.
The Almighty said in Surah Al-Ahzab: “ Call them to their fathers, for it is fairest in the sight of God .
On the authority of Saad, may God be pleased with him, who said:
I heard the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: “Whoever claims something other than his father knowing that there is no God in him.”
Bukhari and Muslim
The Almighty said: And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your tongues and your colors .
Question:
What is the ruling on that man who changes his lineage to something other than his lineage?
On the authority of Saad, may God be pleased with him, who said:
I heard the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: “Whoever claims something other than his father knowing that there is no God in him.”
Bukhari and Muslim
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said:
“Do not turn away from your fathers, for whoever turns away from his father is unbelief.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim
He, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (There are two types of people who have unbelief: slandering one’s lineage, and wailing for one’s sake).
On the authority of Ibrahim al-Taymi, on the authority of his father, who said:
On him is the curse of God, the angels, and all people, and God will not accept him on the Day of Judgment on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Muslim.
Playing with lineages is a dangerous and forbidden matter when a man attributes himself to someone other than his father and says that he is the son of so-and-so and is not like that, whether he belongs to a father other than his father or to a grandfather other than his grandfather, or to a tribe other than his tribe, then the curse of God, His Messenger and all people, when he denied the blessing of his parents, and when He tampered with his proportion and claimed what is not his. The most ugly ugly thing is for a boy to be arrogant about his father.. He disgusts at his father’s name or lineage.. He changes it and distorts it. Changing a person’s lineage involves denial of God’s grace and disobedience to parents.. Therefore, if a child denies his father and attributes it to him, the curse of God will befall him, and he is considered an unbeliever according to the text of the hadith. the correct
Whoever claims for someone other than his father knowingly has committed disbelief, and whoever claims a people who is not one of them, let him take his seat in the Fire, and whoever calls a man to unbelief, or says: The enemy of God, and it is not like that unless it is fierce against him.

And here is the site of the Salafi Sheikh Ibn Al-Baz that explains to you the prohibition of belonging to people other than our fathers or our nationalities https://binbaz.org.sa/audios/2481/565- % When a person disobeys his father and his people and attributes himself to others, the curse of God comes upon him, and he is promised an infidel When he denied his kinship and grew arrogant over them for any matter.. such as position, money, worldly prestige, or a religious center, the curse of God came upon him, when he cheated Muslims, the curse of God came upon him, and when he entered into a people who were not among them, the curse of God came upon him.
