Tiwizi Association celebrates rural women
Once again, the Tiwizi Association, with its partners, takes care and celebrates the rural woman in her small town in the high mountains of the Small Atlas, with a simple initiative and a journey that started from Rabat and gathered around her a group of collective actors, to go beyond the ordinary and provide community service to a group that did not receive the care and attention it deserves. The opportunity was not an invitation to celebrate, as much as it was an invitation to collaborative action.
On Saturday, May 13, 2023, Ait Abdallah witnessed a solidarity tourism visit organized by the Akalino Association for a Green and Solidarity Morocco, in coordination with the Tiwizi Association for Social Development of Ait Abdallah, and in partnership with the Okramad Association for Development, Cooperation, Culture and Sports, and the hospitality of the women’s cooperative Teguidar in the Oukarmad district, and embracing The meeting was organized by the Dar Al-Talib Association and the student, Ait Abdullah, where Akalino launched a participatory project for raising income-generating poultry for the benefit of the women of the region, which was attended by more than 110 interested parties. The aim of this joint work is to encourage women to work and be self-reliant, and to strengthen their abilities to engage and unite within productive cooperatives to effectively contribute to the economic wheel in the region.
The Tiwizi Association and its partners did not coordinate the visit of the Akalino Association to the region for financial profit, and they did not receive the visitors for their material assistance only, and they did not deal with them with the Pragmatic logic or the utilitarian perspective. Rather, we hosted all of them and welcomed the guests as a victory for the human values that they carry, and in appreciation of the solidarity community service, despite its simplicity, that they provided, and in consideration of the humble and noble attention towards women, who are steadfast and struggling to preserve a decent life despite the harshness of the mountainous nature. This gesture they demonstrated by providing incubators for the production of cash/chicken as a sustainable income-generating project to support village women in Ait Abdallah in order to improve their living conditions, and give them a charge to continue.
We welcomed a coexistent, diverse and supportive Morocco, proud of the traditions of the people of Souss and proud of the solidarity tourism to remote areas to contribute to building a cohesive Morocco capable of overcoming challenges.
By the way, this initiative was also an opportunity to market the qualifications of the region and introduce its history to encourage domestic tourism, especially to the regions of the deep Maghreb.
The activity concluded with a distinguished reception by the resident of Dawer Okramad for the guests, who joined in the Ahwash dance to the popular tunes of Susiya. They also visited the historic collective fort and the women's cooperative and bought some of its products.
