The Amazighs of Libya reject the “Cairo Declaration” and consider it a “hostile act”
Today, Thursday, the Supreme Council of the Amazighs of Libya issued a statement regarding the recent developments regarding the constitutional process, and the announcement of the so-called Constitutional Committee in Cairo, formed by the Supreme Council of State and Parliament, to hold a referendum on the alleged constitution.
Through the statement, the Council expressed its “categorical rejection of the results reached by the aforementioned committee and considered this behavior a dangerous slide, a hostile act, and an unprecedented escalation against the Amazighs of Libya.”
He also expressed his categorical rejection of the draft, describing it as “racist,” stressing his “boycott of the alleged referendum and failure to acknowledge its results.”
Through the same statement, the Council called on all “members, including municipalities that fall within the scope of Council membership, to hold a fair meeting.”
