On the occasion of Teacher's Day
On the occasion of Teacher's Day 1---1073
From Mesopotamia, the country of science, civilizations, and the first schools known to history, the following was stated in one of the typical praises:
“The professor is the God who builds humanity.”
Teachers in Mesopotamia enjoyed a prominent position in society. The school principal was called the “Father of the School” and was nicknamed “Al-Stad” out of respect and appreciation for him, and wherever he was mentioned, he was mentioned with appropriate respect.
As for teachers, they had a higher rank than the rank of priests, officers, and governors. The teacher was called “Eliya,” which means the scholar or teacher. The people of Mesopotamia viewed him as knowing everything as long as he knew the cuneiform script, which they considered a sacred script because humans took it from the gods who assigned him a teacher.
As for the students, they are called the school children, the community respects them, and the teacher calls them (my children).
