The play “Attan” by the Association for the Challenge of Disabilities in Tiznit wins first place in the “Theater for Children in Disabilities” festival in Salé
The play “Attan” by the theatrical troupe, The Golden Mask, affiliated to the Disability Challenge Association in Tiznit, was able to obtain first place during the activities of the seventh session of the National Festival for Inclusive Theater or Theater for Children with Disabilities, recently organized by the Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled in Salé.
Al-Hussein Bouikaderne, President of the Tiznit Disability Challenge Association, said, “Any such coronation can have a major role in encouraging beneficiaries and people with disabilities to engage in creativity and unearth their scientific, artistic, athletic and professional skills and capabilities.”
He added in a statement to the “Amazigh World” that “this coronation has a great impact on the hearts of all those working with the Disability Challenge Association and the beneficiaries of its services,” highlighting that “the main goal of the association is to highlight, refine and support capabilities.”
Regarding the challenges facing the association, Boikadern said, “A group of old debts are bothering the association and it has not yet found a solution, which makes it difficult for the process of turnout and innovation and creativity, in addition to, “Some people in a situation of disability have not yet discovered their capabilities and capabilities and suffer from some shyness. And self-deprecation, and this makes our work difficult and directed by trying to reform the person with himself, appreciating his capabilities, encouraging him, and empowering him with the tools of creativity, instead of more efforts to shine and succeed.
The head of the crowned association also referred to the society's "condescending view that does not recognize the capabilities of people with disabilities," and "we should make a lot of effort to sensitize, raise awareness, and create models of successful people to follow, and change their view of these people."
In his statement, the spokesman touched on “the absence of accessibility in many institutions and cultural centers,” noting that this “deprives people with disabilities from benefiting from these centers,” highlighting that “many officials deal with people with disabilities with a benevolent and security approach” that creates Those concerned have a sense of weakness,” speaking in the same statement about “weak recognition of the rights of people with disabilities by many actors.”
